Stefanie first learned about the needs of performance horses in her youth in Germany (FN-trainer apprenticeship). After raising a family and years in the corporate world, she returned to working with horses in 2007, this time wanting to learn all she could to help horses perform optimally through bodywork. A certification in Equine Massage (WMSEM 2007) and the Masterson Method™ (Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork™) in 2008 provided the basis for her practice. She soon became the first person to be certified in the Masterson Method™ and the first certified instructor in this method, which has now won worldwide acclaim.
Having worked with a multitude of different horses over the years—from 4-H ponies to champion endurance horses and top breeding studs in Germany—she now applies her experience in helping clients optimize their horses’ performance & wellbeing in seminars about the Path to Performance™ (a 3-step approach to equine wellness and soundness).
With a background in training and years of equine bodywork practice, horses and riders have been presenting me with an incredible learning experience. In my practice, I found recurring performance problems that can be minimized with a certain amount of prevention. Wanting to really help - not just create temporary relief of symptoms - I have made it my mission to support you in the three key elements that are the foundation for wellness and performance in the riding horse, what I call the Path to Performance™:
Release deep-seated tension and restriction (physical, mental & emotional)
Create suppleness
Gymnasticize for wellness and performance ability
Enjoy a day spending in interactive exploration with horses, where you learn:
Basic equine biomechanics in a hands-on format
Identifying and eliminating factors that cause bracing - including saddle fit
Recognizing and releasing tension & restriction - including simple bodywork techniques
How to avoid physical stress patterns through a mindful, non-confrontational dialog with your horse
No complicated Latin terms here! Feel and explore the horse's body and make the connections. Learn easy techniques to recognize release tension in your horse before and after riding. Learn what contributes to the creation of tension and how to avoid it. About 1.5 hours of class room instruction, the rest is hands-on!
Take-away: Detailed manual with all topics and selected bodywork techniques.
